Massage
Massage
is the manipulation of superficial layers
of muscle and connective tissue to promote
relaxation and well-being.
Massage involves acting on and manipulating
the body with pressure – structured,
unstructured, stationary, or moving –
tension, motion, or vibration, done manually
or with mechanical aids. Target tissues
may include muscles, tendons, ligaments,
skin, joints, or other connective tissue,
as well as lymphatic vessels, or organs
of the gastrointestinal system. Massage
is applied with the hands, fingers, elbows,
knees, forearm, and feet.
At Li's Acupuncture, we provide acupressure, Shiatsu massage, Swedish massage, and Reflexology, for stress relief, or treatment of chronic or acute pain. Treatment is tailored to client's needs.
Acupressure (a blend of "acupuncture"
and "pressure") is a complementary
medicine technique derived from acupuncture.
In acupressure physical pressure is applied
to acupuncture points by the hand, elbow,
or with various devices.
We offer acupressure as well as 'lighter'
massage techniques.
